When I was accepted as a speaker for this year’s Autodesk University , I was incredibly excited to present our solution. I know many attendees would be interested in converting their CAD data from different CAD systems into Inventor.
Of course, at that time, I was expecting to be presenting to a room full of people during a two-day conference. As we know, that is not how it worked out. From my experience at previous AU events, I knew there would be a lot of people interested in hearing about GoToINVENTOR and how this technology can help Inventor users convert CAD data into Inventor.
GoToINVENTOR is a Feature-Based Automated CAD Conversion tool used by companies who need to convert CAD data from other CAD formats into Inventor. This could be part of a corporate initiative to standardize on Inventor or as a result of an acquisition that included data in another CAD program.
It is always a surprise to me how many Inventor and Vault users are unaware that an Automatic Feature-Based Conversion is an option for moving CAD data, including design parameters and drawings from different CAD programs, into Inventor. Many believe they will have to manually remaster their data either in house or offshore, this approach can be prohibitive due to the cost and time required. With GoToINVENTOR, you are converting data in an automated process, massively reducing timeframe and costs compared to manual remastering.
Every conversion project is different, and even with automated conversion, there are likely going to be challenges along the way. ITI has converted millions of CAD objects either by supporting our customers with the GoToINVENTOR software or running the conversion ourselves with ITI’s conversion services.
I hope to meet with the AU community in person over the years to come and present GoToINVENTOR in person. In the meantime, the video of my presentation is available on the AU website. Please do reach out to me directly for more information.
International TechneGroup (ITI) is expert in CAD data interoperability, and the firm has partnered with Autodesk in order to help CAD users convert CAD data into Inventor software through an automated and accurate process.
Specific market trends drive companies to change their CAD systems to Inventor software. Design teams may have invested years of effort and large amounts of resources into these legacy CAD designs; therefore, changing CAD systems and migrating valuable CAD data can be a painful process. Stakeholders’ biggest concerns when moving CAD data to Inventor include preserving intellectual properties, such as design intelligence, parametrics, and features.
Join us to learn about the drivers and technology behind CAD conversion with GoToINVENTOR, a partnership between ITI and Autodesk. As well as explaining the technology behind automated CAD conversion, we will introduce you to GoToINVENTOR and show you how we can support your CAD conversion project in a fully automated process.
