It would be nice if we didn’t have to take into account manufacturability or structural integrity in the design process. We could probably create some pretty incredible things if that was the case. However, as engineers we have to stay in the realm of reality, so often additional supports are needed for parts. This quick tip video will walk you through everything you need to know about the rib command in Inventor, an essential tool in the process of quickly adding supports. Ribs that are normal to the sketch plane, often called webs, can also be created using the rib command.
